If the various devas gods each scatter these flowers upon the Buddha, and after scattering them, simultaneously express this vow, saying: "By the power of these supreme roots of virtue, we pray to always dwell securely in the profound Prajnaparamita Perfection of Wisdom."
Then, having scattered the flowers according to the Buddha's constant custom, from his mouth he emitted various lights: blue, yellow, red, white, crimson, purple, emerald, green, gold, silver, and crystal, illuminating all the Buddha-lands in the ten directions, extending up to the Brahma heavens. These lights circled back and returned to surround the Buddha. After the three periods of diligent practice, he again entered into meditation.
At that time, Ananda the Buddha's primary attendant immediately rose from his seat, paid homage to the Buddha, joined his palms, and asked the Buddha: "World-Honored One, for what reason and what cause do you manifest this subtle smile?"
The Buddha then spoke to Ananda, saying: "All these Bodhisattvas will serve as a metaphor for the stars in the time to come. In the beginning and the end, they will all attain Buddhahood, bearing the same name: 'Flower-Scatterer,' and will be endowed with the ten titles. The number of their Sravaka hearer/disciple assembly will be beyond count. At that time, twenty thousand miraculous flowers will rain down five-colored petals upon the places where they reside. Because of this cause and condition, I manifest this subtle smile. If any Bodhisattva wishes to dwell securely, they should dwell in the Prajnaparamita Perfection of Wisdom. If any Bodhisattva wishes to dwell as the Tathagata Thus-Come One/the Buddha dwells, they should dwell in the Prajnaparamita Perfection of Wisdom."
The Maha Prajnaparamita Great Perfection of Wisdom is that which is ultimate. It is the diligent practice and following of the profound Prajnaparamita Perfection of Wisdom. That which is ultimate is the Bodhisattva's actions, whether in previous lives or in the future. Among the six paramitas perfections, they have already practiced. This place? or coming from the Tushita a heavenly realm heaven, they are born into the human world. Why is this? Because in these two states, it is easy to practice the Prajnaparamita Perfection of Wisdom, and not in other places.
The Maha Prajnaparamita Great Perfection of Wisdom, for all Bodhisattvas who diligently follow the profound Prajnaparamita Perfection of Wisdom, even concerning their body, life, and wealth, as well as their former vows, they will receive the supreme, equal, and perfect bodhi enlightenment and will not retrogress.
Furthermore, good man, if one wishes to uphold, read, and recite the profound Prajnaparamita Perfection of Wisdom, I now encourage and guide you. Protect and encourage the Bodhisattvas who dwell in goodness. If these good men and others—these Bodhisattvas—have planted various roots of virtue before immeasurable Buddhas in the past, it is not merely for the Sravaka hearer/disciple or Pratyekabuddha solitary enlightened one.
Furthermore, if there are Bodhisattvas who study the Prajnaparamita Perfection of Wisdom and are not alarmed or terrified, who uphold, read, recite, and keep their minds focused on it, these Bodhisattvas will then see? the text. If their intention is to be善通 likely meaning "skillfully penetrate", reach their vows, and follow them, these Bodhisattvas will then see?. If they see?, the Tathagata Thus-Come One/the Buddha furthermore?.
