...Why is this? Because these six paramitas perfections are the infinite Dharma-treasury of the Buddhas of the three times. You should know that the essential Dharma taught by the Buddhas and World-Honored Ones of the ten directions and three times all flow out from this infinite Dharma-treasury of the six paramitas. The Buddhas of the ten directions and three times, along with their disciples, all rely on this infinite Dharma-treasury to diligently study and practice; having done so, they will surely attain supreme enlightenment and enter the ultimate Nirvana extinction of suffering.
Furthermore, Ananda, suppose one were to teach the Sravaka hearer/disciple Dharma to Sravakas. Because of this Dharma, all sentient beings in the three-thousand-fold world-system attain the fruit of an Arhat worthy one/enlightened practitioner. That is not yet doing my work as a disciple; doing my work as a disciple is to be very joyful if you can explain even a single phrase of the profound Prajnaparamita corresponding to the truth to a person of the Bodhisattva-vehicle. I feel deep joy in this matter.
Furthermore, Ananda, suppose all sentient beings in the three-thousand-fold world-system simultaneously attained the fruit of an Arhat. What do you think, would the merit from their acts of giving, morality, and cultivation be great? Ananda replied, "It is very great, World-Honored One." The Buddha told Ananda: If there is a Sravaka who can explain to a Bodhisattva the Dharma corresponding to the Prajnaparamita for even the duration of a day and night, or even for the duration of a snap of the fingers, the merit gathered by this Sravaka is much greater. Why? Because the merit gathered by this Sravaka surpasses the roots of virtue of all Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas solitary enlightened ones.
Furthermore, Ananda, if a Bodhisattva explains the Sravaka Dharma to a Sravaka, and all sentient beings in the three-thousand-fold world-system attain the fruit of an Arhat because of this Dharma, what do you think, is the merit obtained by such a Bodhisattva great? Ananda replied, "It is very great, World-Honored One." The Buddha told Ananda: If there is a Bodhisattva who explains to sentient beings the Dharma corresponding to the Prajnaparamita for even the duration of a day and night, or even for the duration of a snap of the fingers, the merit obtained by such a Bodhisattva is much greater than the former. Why? Because the Dharma corresponding to the profound Prajnaparamita can surpass all the roots of virtue of Sravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and the roots of virtue of the two vehicles. Ananda, you should know that if Bodhisattvas, Great Beings, contemplate these roots of virtue and attain supreme enlightenment...
