A rectangular diagram represents a divination box, labeled "Diagram of the Sacred Lots," with text indicating its dimensions: Length 1 shaku approx. 30 cm, and the invocation of the "Great Compassionate Bodhisattva Kannon."
Like the spring wind passing through all lands, when the masses press their palms together and make a request, the response is like an echo; it hits the mark one hundred times out of one hundred. Ah, the immeasurable great compassion and great mercy are profound. Do not be proud of these sounds, for they are mysterious and inconceivable.
Those who determine fortune using these lots should treat the five-character, four-line text above as a clear mirror. Since the notes below are merely the words of an ordinary, foolish person, one should accept or discard them according to one's own judgment. This diviner must recite the Fumon-bon Universal Gateway Chapter of the Lotus Sutra three times, and chant the mantras of the True Kannon, the Thousand-Armed Kannon, and the Eleven-Faced Kannon three hundred and thirty-three times each, performing thirty-three prostrations. Only after this should one draw the lot. One must be able to keep their body pure...
...and their mind focused, rising with a sincere intention, and deeply guarding against the birth of doubt.
