...and the stone revolved with it. Know now that the sign which he mentioned from other bodies, salt, is common to the soul: but regarding the mineral, it is the metal, the blood of the extracted red [matter], which Raymond Raymond Lull also calls: The Noble Word: The Food and the World: Adam: The Hermaphrodite: and the Philosophers': earth: stone, the exalted and pure Spirit: and it is said in itself: our sulphur, not one: of which, without doubt, are the Golden gods, and for the use of human codes: sprinkled for the Wise, as will be revealed below. But since Aristotle speaks of gold in his 4th [book of] Meteorology, saying that heat must first be segregated: and where he affirmed it for the declaration of the universe, he meant that he would conquer by similarity, and not by the same. This part of this homogeneous gold is seen to be easily resolved in any bath liquor; and hence from it, that resolved [matter] will insinuate itself and be recovered: This is also proven by the art of God, which marvelously conserves nature, and by a certain auspice it leads it back rather to common gold, or to the essence of man, and raises it by its virtue, so that in the art of God it might reduce all things to this tree equally; [the tree] which is seen in no way able to suffer ignition, as is the gold of God, and not the common [gold], the friends who were wise spoke to the end, lest it be made from the gold itself potable: Which indeed all of study / if it perished, and were corrupted, nor ought it, it would proceed in the remedy of the same, and to the infirmity for each wise man: these things within and perfectly conserved by Geber, Rhazes and Avicenna: you will be able to use [it] for the minimum price; in all those cases in which the natural heat of the infirm seems weary, or totally debilitated, or if there were despair of their own salvation: This strengthens the medicine of the food, the natural heat, we are able to [use as] a remedy; when it is applied to the lowest, and is easily transmuted, it enjoys its own operation, and to them it is indeed optimally appropriated: In this it is discerned, that that new humidity does not abound with anything fiery, fatty, and watery: Therefore both from fumes, and heat: innate, more solid: that nature nourishes in the mixture of humidity and the residue from the impure, it will pass through things that can be done, and will defend itself from all putrefaction, and thus will provide the natural heat with fodder to be preserved and fostered; and for you in the convalescing of virtue and [to be] expended it is finished: But that the heat is so strengthened, that it saves the whole infirm [body]. And therefore the Prince of physicians Hippocrates in his first [book of] Prognostics affirmed that one ought to decree to foresee what is elsewhere, To which if in all prudence it is foreseen, that will be admirable, and indeed astonishing: This, however, is granted divinely to men by the gold of God for their own salvation and their goods, for it will be that which from the heavenly opposition: But that which was said by Raymond (the whiteness is said to feed) was such gold as is said of the scum of Red wine and Human blood: This is believed by some to be the contrary, as elsewhere where it signifies: That which indeed of food or elsewhere, as is said against the gold of the gold of God: know, that it happens to be clean elements: i.e., his naked clean earth, which it does without the preparer of its light for the Philosophers: But since Aristotle wishes to demonstrate this more clearly to his disciples, he made [it] to the purpose of this divine gold, calling it in his books accessible the most secret book which is called God, from the world: in which he said, what differs that this most clean mundane [thing] in essence, that they had been disposed by the elements: Nevertheless he always understood [it] of this our food, from the lesser world / or
