Without distinctions, without fear, without attributes, stainless. (9)
Seeing him who acts for the benefit of all, the God of gods, the one free from infirmity,
And seeing his pleasant countenance, the Goddess Parvati, devoted and humble, spoke to Shiva. (10)
O God of gods! O Lord of the world! O my Lord! O treasure of compassion!
I am subject to you, O Lord of gods, and am always a follower of your commands. (11)
Without your permission, it is not possible for me to say anything.
If there is even a trace of grace in you, or if you have affection for me, (12)
Then I will submit something that I have pondered in my mind.
Who else in the three worlds, O Great Lord, is worthy to be the remover of this doubt,
Or is omniscient and a knower of all scriptures? (13)
"Without distinctions" original: "nirvikalpam" means one from whom various imaginations have departed. "Without fear" original: "niratan-kam" means one from whom fear and anxiety regarding heat/suffering have departed. "Without attributes" original: "nirvishesham" means one devoid of various divisions. "Stainless" original: "niranjanam" means one who is not impure or perceptible. (9)
"Acting for the benefit of all" and so on. "Free from infirmity" original: "niramayam" means one from whom disease is gone. (10)
Regarding the expectation of what Parvati said to Shiva, the text says: "Shri Parvati spoke." "O God of gods," and so on. "O Lord of gods" original: "devesha" means the controller of even gods like Indra. Since I am subject to you, or conquered by you, and am always a follower of your commands, it is not possible for me to say, or tell, anything without your permission. (11) (12)
"Who else" original: "tvadanya" refers to the panchami-tatpurusha a grammatical compound where the first word is in the ablative case denoting "other than you." (13)
