The many Puranas ancient scriptural texts will face destruction, O Lord.
At that time, people will turn their backs on righteous conduct. (39)
They will be undisciplined, intoxicated by pride, and always engaged in sinful actions.
They will be lustful, greedy, cruel, harsh, foul-mouthed, and deceitful. (40)
They will be short-lived, dull-witted, and afflicted by disease and grief.
They will be bereft of splendor, weak, base, and addicted to low conduct. (41)
They will be fond of base company and steal the wealth of others.
They will be wicked, devoted to slandering others, causing conflict, and backbiting. (42)
They will be devoid of fear or concern regarding the sin of abducting other men's wives.
They will be penniless, unclean, miserable, poverty-stricken, and chronically ill. (43)
Brahmins will behave like Shudras the servant caste, having abandoned the daily Sandhya twilight prayers.
They will perform rites for those for whom they should not, being greedy, of bad character, and sinful. (44)
