"Liars," and so on. "Hypocrites" are those who feign righteousness. "Uninitiated" refers to Brahmins who, even after the age of sixteen, remain uninitiated and have lost the Gayatri sacred mantra—this follows from the previous verse. (45)
"Public," and so on. "Heretics" are those outside the Vedic path, those who pretend to practice vows like the wearing of the sacred grass but lack inner conviction. "Devoid of faith and devotion"—faith is firm belief in the Vedas, and devotion is the activity that generates love. They are devoid of both. (46)
"Forbidden food," and so on. "Dependents" are those whose life depends on being supported by others, hence they are even servants of Shudras. "Cruel" means hard-hearted. "Eager for sexual union with Vrishalis" means they are desirous of sexual union with women of low status. (47-49)
"Discourse on the Truth," and so on. The word "and" here has the sense of "but." (50)
