That which grants longevity, health, and vitality, increases strength and power,
Bestows knowledge and intelligence upon people, and brings about auspiciousness without effort. (70)
By which people will become possessors of great strength and valor,
Pure-hearted, beneficial to others, and devoted to their mother and father. (71)
Men who are faithful to their own wives, turned away from the wives of others,
Devoted to deities and teachers, and nurturers of their children and kin. (72)
Knowers of Brahman, possessed of the knowledge of Brahman, with minds absorbed in the contemplation of Brahman,
For the purpose of success in the journey of life, tell me what is beneficial. (73)
What is to be done and what is not to be done, based on the distinctions of class and stage of life varnashrama social and spiritual life stages.
Except for You, who is the savior of all beings in the three worlds? (74)

Thus ends the first chapter original: "prathamollasa" of the glorious Mahanirvana Tantra,

the most excellent of all Tantras, in the essence of the determination of all Dharma,

in the dialogue between the glorious Agya Sadashiva and Devi,

entitled 'The Question of the Means of Liberation for the Jiva'.

The commentary clarifies: "Of them" refers to those people. "Longevity, health, and vitality" means that which is beneficial for life, health, luster, and brilliance. (66, 70) "By which method" refers to the means. (71) "Knowers of Brahman" refers to those who possess the wisdom that everything is indeed Brahman. "Journey of life" refers to the maintenance of worldly existence. (72-74)
