The scope of Indian Tantric literature and its conceptual depth are like a vast ocean. Within it, all the means for worldly and otherworldly advancement are available, through which both those of ordinary intellect and those well-versed in profound scriptures can obtain guidance for the attainment of their desired objects. Tantra-shastra is the fundamental heritage of the faith prevalent in the world of theists. All other scriptures that teach religious duties have maintained reverence for the Tantras and have emphasized conduct and spiritual practice accordingly. It is not hidden from anyone that Tantra-shastra has always shown the easy path of public welfare.
Tantra-shastra is divided into 1. Agama tradition/revelation, 2. Yamala dual/pair, and 3. Tantra; therefore, it is considered the 'Trinity' of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Among these, the importance of 'Yamala' texts is even greater because they are the 'symbols of the unity of Shiva and Shakti'. The Yamala has also been called the enlightener of all scriptures. Among such many Yamala texts, the supreme royal text is 'Rudrayamala'. As a witness to all classical processes related to Tantra, it is a 'Tantric Encyclopedia'.
The present 'Rudrayamala-Tantra: Essence Collection for Universal Use' is created from the deep study of all those available and rare texts and manuscripts obtained under the name of Rudrayamala, which one hears from the mouths of scholars, but of which the reality could not be known.
