[The mantra] is indicated. This is implied by the mere instruction of the form of the dissolution mantra. The dissolution mantra is: "Om Hrim Om Om Om, Salutations to the faultless, quality-less, body-less, unattached, non-dual Self, who illuminates all through His own reflection, the unattached knowledge, the infinite non-dual immediate Ever-Blissful Consciousness-Self, who destroys the non-existent duality through His own knowledge, who is the image of the unsupported realization, the Supreme Self." By the terms "arose from the Primal Source," "not names," and "differentiated by qualities," it should be understood as a eulogy of knowledge: that those born into a specific family, distinguished by rituals like the birth ceremony and naming ceremony, are endowed with qualities, are benefactors of the world, and are the ones qualified for the knowledge to be described.
When the question arises as to what they did, the text, stating their history, clarifies that they are not the ultimate cause because they are ignorant: "Reflecting upon their own origin."
"Origin" original: "nishpatti" is that from which one is produced, meaning the material cause. The word "and" original: "cha" signifies the instrumental cause. "Duty" original: "kritya" signifies the nature. Unable to decide for themselves due to ignorance, they perceived the Magician original: "mayin", who possesses the condition of equilibrium of qualities, as the Speaker. The reason for His ability to decide, compared to the distinctness of their forms, is "the Unborn" original: "aja". The reason for His unborn nature is "the Unmanifest" original: "avyakta". The lack of form is also there. If He is without attributes, how can He be a speaker? Because of His connection with Maya, He somehow attains qualities; hence, "the Magician." Anticipating the doubt that He might be incapable of being a speaker due to the dependency of that Maya, it refutes this by saying "the All-Pervading" original: "vibhu". The qualified seekers are those who are capable of reflection and have approached a guru. It is indicated that the guru possesses the power of both obstruction and grace.
Anticipating that even the Magician would be unable to speak without the association of space, form, and so on, it provides all that sequentially: "By the form and so on." The "form" is the power-seed original: "shakti-bija". The "appearance" original: "abhasa" is the Pranava Om, which shines all around. By that mantra which has become the body, He lies in the Ocean of Milk; this is the connection. It means He is conditioned by the Pranava of the Lord of All. "Om" is the Pranava of the Lord of All. "They understood Him" refers to the sages who are the Trinity. The meter is indicated as the Goddess Gayatri, since she is the chanter and the speaker. He will also indicate the deity by saying, "Be gracious, O Lord of the World." The placements on the limbs and body are indicated by "appearing through a form."
