...at the auspicious moment. When given to the king during a meal, it is the Chandi mantra [that] causes subjugation. One should take the ashvattha-bandhaka parasitic plant growing on a pipal tree in the northern direction; when tied to the hand, it brings [success] everywhere, even at the royal gate. One should take the dhatri-bandhaka parasitic plant on an amla tree in the forest, or the vishakha-bandhaka. Now, when tied to the hand, it is a subjugator of kings for men. In the Purvaphalguni constellation, one should take the dadima-bandhaka pomegranate parasite. When tied to the hand, one becomes a subjugator, even if the king is Indra himself. Having taken the nagakesara-bandhaka under the Ashlesha constellation, and tied to the hand, one becomes a subjugator of even the king who is the lord of the earth. In the Revati constellation, having enchanted with red flower petals seven times and made a tilaka, it is a subjugator of kings. Success is attained through the Chandi mantra. One should perform a burnt offering of mustard oil, red sandalwood, and mustard seeds. By merely offering one thousand oblations, one brings a king under control. With mustard seeds and goat's blood... in one's own house, having established [it] as before, the king becomes submissive; it is not otherwise. By offering honey and shoka flowers at night as before, even an emperor becomes submissive through the power of the Chandi mantra.
The go-jihva elephant-ear plant or the root of the shikhi peacock/peacock plant placed in the mouth or on the head brings victory in all debates at the auspicious Pushya moment. In the month of Margashirsha, on the full moon, one should extract the shikhi root. By wearing it on the arm or head, one becomes victorious on Sunday. There is no doubt one is freed from bondage by this shikha mantra.

By reciting one hundred and eight times, the mayura-shikha peacock-crest plant becomes successful. With the root of the meghanada in the mouth, the opposing speaker becomes [submissive]...
