"This Narayani is Kali, Tara is the one who dwells in the void. Red-Kali is called Sundari, and then this same power is known by forms such as Bhairavi and Nadini."
The worship of the Dash Mahavidyas is an infallible means for both worldly success and liberation while living. Therefore, it is necessary to understand their worship-manual and installation method specifically. In the Mahabhagavata Purana, upon the question of Narada, Mahadeva Lord Shiva described the method of 'Dashayatan' Mahavidya worship, similar to the 'Devapanchayatan' a system of worshiping five deities, in the seventy-sixth chapter. He said that one should keep Kali or Kamakhya in the center and install Tara to the left of Kali and Bhuvaneshwari to the right. One should install Shodashi in the southeast corner and Bhairavi in the southwest corner. One should place Chinnamasta in the northwest corner and Bagalamukhi in the back section. One should worship Tripura Sundari in the northeast corner, Matangi in the upper section, and Dhumavati in the west. Below this great seat Mahapitha, one should install Maharudra and the gods like Brahma and Vishnu along with their powers Shaktis.
