The Tantra of the Spirit-Subduer

Second Chapter

Now, I shall reveal the secret and supreme mantra, through which the destruction of gods and bhutas elemental spirits/ghosts is achieved. (1)

I am teaching a very secret mantra, through which the act of destroying even gods and spirit-hosts is accomplished. (1)

Om, strike the vajra-flame original: "vajrajvalena", strike, twice; thereafter, strike all beings, then the kurcha the seed-syllable "hum", and end with the weapon original: "astrantam", such is the mantra declared. By merely knowing this, vajra-flames erupt from the pores of the King of Wrath original: "krodhesa". The pramathas attendant spirits and others wither away. Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu, and the foremost gods are brought under the rule of Yama original: "yamasasanam". (2-3)

The mantra is: "Om vajrajvale hana hana sarvabutan hum phat." By knowing this mantra alone, the thunderbolt-flame emerges from the pores of the Wrathful Bhairava. Hostile spirits wither, and even the great gods like Brahma, Mahadeva, and Indra are brought under the dominion of Death. (2-3)

Then, the Rudras and others spoke in astonishment to the King of Wrath: "At this present time, do not suppress them. All bhutas and bhutinis female spirits will obey your command." (4)

When the King of Wrath spoke thus to Unmatta Bhairavi, the gods (the Rudras and others) said in amazement: "O Bhairava, do not suppress them at this time. All hosts of spirits and the earth itself will follow your word." (4)

Then, the one who evokes knowledge original: "vijnanakarshini" speaks the mantra with great astonishment: "Om, in the face of Brahma, pierce, pierce, phat." By merely speaking this, the vajra-flames are released. This is the mritasanjivani life-restoring knowledge; it restores life to the dead. Through its power, the destruction of the evils of the spirits occurs. (5-6)

The knowledge-evoking mantra is now revealed: "Om brahmamukhe shara shara phat." As soon as this is uttered, the thunderbolt-flame emerges. This is the life-restoring science. Through it, a deceased being is brought back to life. Its power destroys the fear of spirits. (5-6)
