Fourth Chapter

"O Lord! O Lord of Gods! O Granter of fear to gods and demons!"
"Tell me of the Shmashānavāsinī She who dwells in the cremation ground, if you are pleased, O Bhairava!" || 1 ||

Unmattabhairavi says: "O Lord of the Lords of Gods! You terrify gods and demons. If you are pleased with me, then teach me the mantras and methods for attaining the Shmashānavāsinī." || 1 ||

"Now, therefore, I shall declare the mantra for the dweller of the ancestral ground [cremation ground]."
"For the benefit of the lowly, having bowed before the Krodhabhūpati Lord of Wrath." || 2 ||

Bhairava says: "Having bowed to the Lord of Wrath, I shall declare the mantra of Shmashānavāsinī for the benefit of the needy." || 2 ||

"The poison [the seed-syllable hum] first, the seed of time twice, doubled."
"Then the prāleya cool/white syllable, then the seed of the Lord of Spirits, phat phat twice again."
"Then the phrase 'of all spirits', the phrase 'of the Blessed One'."
"Follow the command of the Vajra-holder, write it down."
"Extract the phrase of killing and striking, twice each."
"From the phrase 'O, O at night', the phrase 'dweller of the cremation ground'."
"Come quickly, Kurcha and weapon [mantra], this is the invocation mantra of the bhūtinī female spirit." || 3 ||

"Om hrim hum hum Om hrim phat phat, of all spirits, of the Blessed Vajra-holder, follow the command, strike strike, kill kill, attack attack, O O at night, dweller of the cremation ground, come quickly, hum phat." This is the invocation mantra for the bhūtinī. || 3 ||

"The sacred syllable, the pair of 'jval' [burn], then shake, the pair of movements."
"Move, enter, as before, burn, stand, the two pairs."
"The phrase 'follow the command', 'O O at night', one should speak."
"'Dweller of the cremation ground', from the two times of death, the pair of weapons, the two 'tha's."
"This is the mantra of Shmashānavāsinī known as the 'command'."
"I shall now speak the Shmashānavāsinī mantra in order." || 4 ||
