Yogini Tantra

Invocation

May she who possesses the luster of a dark blue cloud, who is auspicious, who wears the crescent moon as a crest jewel, who is the sole refuge for alleviating the suffering of devotees, who is ever the bestower of the wealth of knowledge, who resides in the heart of Shambhu, and who is the confluence of the celestial river Suradhuni Ganges and the Kalindini Yamuna, grant us great joy in the world. (1)
May this Yogini Tantra, translated by Kanhaiyya Lal, born in the Mishra lineage, using clear and appropriate language, be for the satisfaction of the Primordial Mother. (2)

Om. Parvati, the beloved of the mountain king, asked Shankar, the Supreme Lord, the master of the bull-emblem, who was seated on the peak of Kailash. (1)
The Supreme Lord Shankar, who bears the bull-emblem, was seated on the beautiful peak of Kailash; at that time, Goddess Parvati asked her husband, Mahadeva. (1)

The Goddess Spoke

O Bhagavan, knower of all dharmas religious/moral laws, Lord who is the embodiment of all knowledge, tell me about the Yogini Tantra which you have alluded to, O teacher of the world. (2)
Its greatness was previously sung at Shailamandra, Varanasi, Kamarupa, Nepal, and Mount Mandara. (3)
Goddess Parvati said: O Bhagavan! O knower of all dharmas! O embodiment of all knowledge! O Lord! You previously alluded to the greatness of that which is at Shailamandra, Mandara, Varanasi (Kashi), and Kamarupa.
