Tell me about that Yogini Tantra whose greatness you only mentioned by name while at Nepal and Mount Mandara. O teacher of the world! My desire to hear it has become strong. (2-3)
The Lord spoke
Listen, O Goddess, I will tell you the excellent Yogini Tantra. It is purifying, supreme, auspicious, and the sole bestower of the fruit of liberation. (4)
The Lord said: O Goddess! Listen, I am telling you the Yogini Tantra, which is the most excellent, highly auspicious, most purifying, and bestower of the fruit of liberation. (4)
It must be kept secret with great effort, for you are dear to me as my own life. Act in such a way, O sweet-speaking one, that no one else can obtain it. (5)
O sweet-speaking one! O you who are dear to me as my own life! You and I must keep this Tantra secret with great effort, and you should ensure that no other (unqualified) person can obtain it. (5)
O woman with beautiful hips, this Tantra is difficult to obtain even for gods and demons. All the gods desire to hear this supreme Tantra. (6)
O supreme Goddess, I have not told it to the Yakshas and others. I am telling it to you because I am bound to you by your great affection. (7)
I bow to that Mother of the Universe, who has the luster of a dark cloud, whose rows of teeth are like a line of cranes in the luster of lightning. (8)
Who is charming with a garland of skulls, with loosened hair, and who is digambara clothed in the sky/naked. (8)
