A decorative bookplate for the Library of the New York Botanical Garden. The central emblem features a shield divided into four quadrants containing botanical and scholarly symbols, such as a tree, a book, a globe, and a plant. Two figures flank the shield: a scholar in academic robes on the left and a gardener with a shovel on the right. A crown sits above the shield. Below the shield, a banner displays the Latin motto. The entire design is enclosed in an ornate rectangular frame featuring laurel branch motifs. At the top, a small box contains the handwritten shelf mark.
