...little works of satisfaction would have been pleasing and acceptable to me, desiring to be filled with the crumbs that fall from the table of the lords, saints, and just, and no one gives to me. original: "¶ parua opera satisfactozia mihi grata 7 accepta essent: cupie ti saturari de micis que cadunt de mensa dominorum sanctor 7 iustorum: 7 nemo mihi dat."
O you all who pass by the way, attend and see my pain; sympathize with me and have mercy on me, and as long as strength is supplied and time aids, do good. original: "O vos omnes qui transitis per viam: attendite 7 videte dolorem meum: compatiamini mihi: 7 miseremini mei: 7 qdiu vires suppetunt: 7 tempus iuuat bo num agentes."

And he adds: "If anyone loves the world, the charity of the Father is not in him." original: "Et subdit Si quis diligit mundu non est caritas patris in eo."
He adds the reason why: "Because everything that is in the world is the concupiscence of the flesh, or the concupiscence of the eyes, or the pride of life, which is not from God the Father but from the world." original: "Subiungit rationem quare: quia omne quod est in mundo concupiscentia carnis: aut concupiscentia oculorum aut superbia vite est: que no est ex deo patre sed de mudo."
"But the world passes away and its concupiscence. But he who does the will of God remains forever." original: "Sed mundus transit 7 concupiscentia eius. Qui autem facit volun tatem dei: manet ineternum."
Likewise James says: "He who is a friend of this world is constituted an enemy of God." original: "Item Jacobus ait. Qui amicus est huius mundi: inimicus dei constituitur."
O I wish the lovers of the world themselves would at least attend to the severity of divine justice, which in the final examination of strict judgment will judge everyone's merits and will punish without any mercy. original: "O vtinam ipsius mundi amatores ad min? attenderet seueritate diuine iustitie que in extremo examine districti iudicii vniuscuiusq merita iudicabit 7 puniet sine omni misericordia."
Human craftiness does not deceive, nor is it bent by tearful supplication. original: "Non decipit huma na astutia: nec flectitur supplicamine lachrimosa."
About the strict judgment of God and how the punishments are
For the strict judgment of God will suffer nothing to pass unpunished. original: "Districtum enim iudicium dei nihil patietur transire inultum"
Regarding which strict judgment Anselm says: "O how narrow everywhere are the ways of the reprobate: above will be the angry Judge, below the horrible chaos of hell, on the right indeed sins accusing, on the left infinite demons dragging to punishment, inside the conscience burning, outside the world burning; the sinner thus caught, where to flee or hide will be impossible, but to appear will be intolerable." original: "De quo quidem districtu iudicio dicit Anselmus. Whence John Chrysostom: "There will be no virtue to resist, nor faculty to flee, nor place for penitence, nor time for satisfaction; and from the anguish of all, the king will be nothing but lamentation." original: "Unde Johannes crisostomus.
