Scorpio, arrives at the beginning of this year at the 29th degree of Libra. The progression from the ascendant of the same conjunction arrives at the 23rd degree of Virgo. The progression from the ascendant of the year in which it was arrives at the 9th degree of Leo. The progression from the great conjunction of Saturn and Mars, made in the year of our Lord 1473, on the completed day of August 20 in the sign of Cancer, comes to the sign of Aquarius, beginning from August 30 of the past year, namely 1472, up to August 30 of the present year, at which time the progression from that conjunction will arrive at the sign of Pisces, which signs were the ascendants for the revolution of the world year, etc. These assumptions regarding the applications of these conjunctions are to be considered by many, as is clear from Ptolemy in the Centiloquium Hundred Sayings, word 4. Also from Haly on the beginning of the Quadripartitum Four-part work. And more clearly from Haly Embregel, part 4, chapter 1 and 2, and in many subsequent chapters. And extensively by Albumasar in the book on great conjunctions. Astrologers who omit considering them cannot predict the future except by chance. Therefore, the entry of the greatest luminary the Sun into the image of Aries will be in the year of salvation 1473, on the day of March 10, after midday, at 16 hours, 19 minutes, and 12 seconds, not equalized. But equalized, the day and hour aforesaid, at 27 minutes and 20 seconds, which will be the hour of Jupiter on our renowned Roman horizon, with almost the 21st degree of Aquarius ascending. The conjunction of the luminaries at the said entry of the Sun into Aries will be on Wednesday, February 28, after midday, at the 5th hour and approximately 0 minutes. And by the clock, it will be the aforesaid day after sunset, at the 0 hour and approximately 6 minutes, which will be the hour of the Sun, with approximately the 21st degree of Virgo in the ascendant. And because the ascendant of the world year is a fixed sign, just as in the past year, therefore, according to the opinions of our elders, there is no need to divide the year into its four parts. It is true, however, that he who wishes to judge this year must look not only at the figure of the Sun’s entry into Aries and at the conjunction of the Sun and Moon preceding the said entry, but also at other past conjunctions and constellations, and primarily must remember the eclipse of the Sun that occurred in the year 1472, on December 13, in the first degree of Capricorn, at the node of the dragon’s tail, in the image of the Crown, in opposition to Jupiter and in square to Saturn, made under the lordship of two unfortunates likely referring to Saturn and Mars, and it was elucidated sufficiently in that judgment. And because in this year it will produce greater effects, as is clearly perceived, it was therefore said that it should be remembered. The judgment of the year will be distinguished into twenty-five chapters or words, beginning from the generalities, then descending to the particulars, so that we may be understood more perfectly. First word: We pronounce Mercury as the principal lord of the year in Italy and in many other places outside of Italy. I say that the Moon with Jupiter will become the leader after a few days, nor should any of the wise doubt this.
Second word: The small eclipse of three points will occur this year on Monday, May 28, in the 16th degree of Gemini, completed at the node of the dragon’s head, and it will begin at the 22nd hour of the clock with approximately 27 minutes, and the middle of the eclipse will be at the 23rd hour with approximately 4 minutes. Its end, however, will be at the 24th hour, near the star Alaioc Capella, having the reins of the nature of Mars and Mercury, of the first magnitude, with the Sun as lord. Mercury in one sign with Mars in the house of death, and in square to the place of the greater misfortune of the whole sky, namely Saturn.
