The conjunction of Jupiter and Mars will occur this year on Monday, August 13, before midday, and it will take place in the 21st degree of Leo, incomplete, near the star that is called the Heart of the Lion, of the nature of Saturn and Jupiter, of the third magnitude, both of them indeed under the rays of the Sun in northern latitude, and when Venus arrives in the same, or in the path of the Sun, she herself seeking their bodily conjunction.

There will also be this year a conjunction of Mars and Saturn in northern latitude on Saturday, November 17, before midday, and it will take place in the 22nd degree of the sign of Libra, incomplete, with Venus, the lady of the aforesaid sign, being in approximately the 19th degree of the same. And although there are other constellations this year, these that we have narrated will be the more principal ones and will produce their effects more in the following year. Therefore, to the judgment of another year, the significations of these pertain more; therefore, for that reason, they should be passed over in silence, as they would not be to the point, except perhaps for the conjunction of Jupiter and Mars, which may perhaps bring about some effects in this year.

Fifth word: On scarcity or fertility.

This year, according to the dispositions of the stars, will not be very fertile, and perhaps less so than the past year, at least with God’s guidance tending toward fertility, namely regarding wheat, wine, and other grains, legumes, and furthermore oil, sugar, and the like; they will be rather in small quantity. For misfortune will fall upon the trees or plants because they will suffer damage in the spring or thereabouts. This is clear, first, from the presence of Saturn in retrograde in the ascendant of the preceding conjunction at the Sun’s entry into Aries. Second, from Jupiter, lord of the place of the aforementioned conjunction, and lord of the fourth house of misfortune. Likewise, through the retrogradation of the aforementioned Saturn in the fourth place from Jupiter himself. Third, it is proven by the presence of the dragon’s tail in the fourth house. Fourth, it is proved by Mars, the second lord of the house of subjection, in opposition to the said house, namely in its detriment, which is worse because the Sun and the Moon, being in the 6th house, apply from opposition to the ascendant of the aforesaid conjunction and the Part of Fortune, according to Ptolemy, especially because Mercury, the lord of the cusp of the ascendant of the aforesaid conjunction, although he is found in his triplicity, is nevertheless in a cadent house and in the term of a misfortune. The same is also affirmed by the figure of the revolution of the world year, where Saturn, being lord of the cusp of the ascendant of misfortune, existing in a cadent house, casts its opposite rays to the house of subjection, and the price of wheat and honey will be in the same house, especially because the Sun sitting in it is not good. This conclusion is confirmed by Haly Embrahel in his book on the revolutions of the world years.
