or changes, they will pursue joys and delights, and will commit many unspeakable adulteries and fornications. And if they are found unharmed by the infections and the malice of Mars, they should give thanks to God.
Word 13. Concerning the state of those of whom Mercury is the significator.
Mercurial-types, such as merchants, painters, sculptors, printers, writers, teachers of the arts, preachers, theologians, astrologers, arithmeticians, geometers, alchemists, orators, poets, versifiers, notaries, chancellors, adolescents, youths, magnanimous men, changeable men with elevated foreheads, and generally all those of whom Mercury is the significator and bilech in the nativity, will fare well for the most part this year. They will be loved, honored, and appreciated, and some of them will be exalted and receive dignity, especially in the first half of the year, with Mercury, lord of the year, received by Venus, the lesser fortune, from exaltation. In the second half of the year, however, they will not be as well disposed, as many of them will fall into the hatred of lords, will have manifest enemies, and will labor under hot diseases.
Word 14. Concerning the state of those of whom the Moon is the significatrix.
Lunar-types, such as legates, messengers, sailors, phlegmatic men, fishermen, cloth washers, wool-workers, fullers, millers, and others dwelling in waters, and above all those who are governed by the ray of the Moon, will suffer various infirmities this year from cold matter, and especially about the chest and feet. And I fear that some of them may be submerged in waters, or in whatever way they may meet a shameful death in watery places.
Word 15. Concerning the universal state of ecclesiastics.
Universally this year, ecclesiastics, by the disposition of the stars, are strongly inclined toward journeys, and many of them will be ill with various and diverse languors. Some will die by sword, iron, or perhaps poison, nor will they be free from pressures; among some, there will be a contrariety of wills. And I have the greatest suspicion regarding the death of some great prelate in the Church of God in the first half of the year. It is proven by the conjunctions. Firstly, because Mars, the natural significator of journeys and of orientations in the figure of the revolution of the world year, has become by accident the lord of the house of ecclesiastics, which house is the house of major journeys, and is found in the third house, which is also the house of minor journeys. Secondly, because Jupiter, the natural significator of ecclesiastics, at the hour of the revolution is seated together with the Moon, lady of the triplicity of the house of death, in the house of languors or infirmities, especially since Jupiter himself approaches the trine aspect of Mercury, the lord of the house of death. Thirdly, it is confirmed by Saturn, the natural significator of kings, who is also a prince in the lordship of the royal house of the revolution, exiting in the opposite sign from Jupiter. Fourthly and lastly, it is taken from Mars, lord of the house of death, in the figure of the conjunction preceding the Sun's ingress into Aries, being in the opposite sign from Mercury, the lord of the house of kings and the other significator of ecclesiastics, with Mercury, the Sun, and the Moon seated in the house of infirmities. The dangerous times most to be observed by ecclesiastics will be: the whole month of April until May 4th, and from June 9th until July 10th, and from August 13th until September 5th, and from November 7th until December 23rd, during which times true good fortune does not look upon them with loving eyes.
Word 16. In particular, concerning the Pontiff, Pope Sixtus.
The most blessed Supreme Pontiff Sixtus will fall into great thoughts and anxieties this year, an indication taken from the stars, and his thoughts will be much interrupted.
