Prognostication for the Year 1472

of Libra, a conjunction of the two unfortunates will occur in the month of November next. This sign, as some wise men intend, is the prince of the signification of the Roman city. How many various illnesses and infirmities, therefore, will these constellations bring upon men, especially in the second half of the year. And if the influence were conducive to plague, which it is not, I would announce no small plague for Rome. This imperial city will not be secure from pestilential illnesses for almost the whole year. Let men, therefore, warn themselves with due regimen. I repeat: many men, women, and children will be troubled by putrid illnesses and will die, not only in Rome but elsewhere. Likewise, many lawsuits, indignations, hatreds, and fears from enemies will be present in Rome, and many will be imprisoned there. Wherefore, let the rulers understand this word. Also, at some times this year, I see in Rome certain perturbations, or homicides, or some other novelties and misfortunes. And I fear that in Rome or the surrounding parts, the crops and vineyards or plants may be devastated by frosts, cold, or hail, or any other occasion because of the already mentioned constellations.

Word 34. Concerning prodigies.

Some prodigy or comet will certainly appear in the air this year, for there exists a great constellation for this reason. And there is great suspicion of earthquakes in places where they are accustomed to occur.

Word 35. Concerning the conjunctions and oppositions of the luminaries.

For the completion of this judgment, and so that we may observe our custom, we will recount the future conjunctions and oppositions of the luminaries for the whole year with their ascendants for common hours, that is, started from the setting of the sun and calculated to the Roman horizon. Also, we will note some days in the following sections which, according to our opinion, we believe will be more altered than others: namely, as pertains to clouds, waters, winds, frosts, thunder, hail, and the like. We desire, as we said in previous years, that it be understood that the day which is noted includes the day preceding and the day following.

March.

Opposition of the luminaries on the 15th of March after sunset at the 5th hour, 11 minutes; ascendant 40 Leo. Conjunction of the luminaries on the 29th of March after sunset at the 16th hour; ascendant 4 Cancer. March will decline somewhat toward humidity; however, there will be little rain, but winds will blow according to its nature. The days most disposed to some alteration of the air will be these: the 3rd, 8th, 11th, 15th, 18th, 25th, 27th, 29th.

April.

Opposition of the luminaries on the 24th of April after sunset at the 16th hour, 16 minutes; ascendant 4 Gemini. Conjunction of the luminaries on the 28th of April after sunset at the 7th hour, 15 minutes; ascendant 15 Pisces. April will decline toward humidity and moderate rains will appear. It will have some altered and windy days: namely, around the 1st, 2nd, 6th, 9th, 13th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 30th. In the greater part of said days, some rain, fog, wind, or other alterations of the air will appear.

May.
