Prognostication for the Year 1500

The rest of the time of the year, however, they will not feel so happy, and especially in the summer and winter, when the image of Cancer is found in the house of languor, scorched by the sun, and in winter reflected diametrically by the same. Whence their subjects will hold them in hatred, and they themselves will inflict evils and severity upon them. Also, the image of Cancer rising in the summer quarter renders the summer moderate and temperate because of Mars, the lord, located in Leo in the ascendant, which will cause a scarcity of waters but hot and harmful western winds.

The fifth image, Leo.

The image of Leo, found in the house of friends, looking at its own lord with a trine aspect, while dwelling in the house of infirmity, shows that the places dedicated to it, such as Apulia, Rome, Mantua, and Perugia, are to be saddened by the death and grave infirmity of their lords and nobles. In the summer, however, they will contract discords, disputes, and very many altercations with their lords; they themselves will overcome and surpass their lords, and will be magnanimous and bold against them. This image of Leo, located in the ascendant with Mars and the Sun, its lord, found in the eleventh house, announces this. But let them also watch those aforementioned places diligently in the winter quarter, lest their lords and magnates rise against them, not without their detriment and danger, since the Sun, the lord of Leo, is in the fourth house, and the image of Leo is found in the eleventh and twelfth houses. In the autumn quarter, also, let some fear suspension and death because of the Sun joined to Mars in the image of Libra in the sixth house, and let them also fear plague and infirmities. Likewise, because Mars is found in the summer in the image of Leo, and it is the lady of that quarter, it signifies war in eastern parts with much shedding of blood. Venus also, in the sign of Leo, receding from the conjunction of Mars, shows war between kings, death, destruction, and misfortune.

The sixth image, Virgo.

The image of Virgo, placed in the twelfth house, having Mercury as its lord and Venus located in the sixth, opposite, shows that in places subject to Virgo, such as Sicily, Imola, Arezzo, Parma, and according to some, Perugia, terrible rumors and the shedding of blood and infirmities will occur. Let them fear prisons and suspensions; they will also feel damage from their enemies. Maximilian, the Roman Emperor, should also fear this image so located, since this year is not secure for his serenity regarding adverse health and also from enemies, and he will feel controversy and enmity from a great and religious man, and they will fight against each other. It will make the winter cold beyond measure, with snows, waters, and northern winds.
