¶ In the first quarter of this year, I predict sufficiently prosperous health for men, and especially for my Romans, except for those to whom the predicted conjunctions are adverse. And the eclipses at the end of summer and in autumn indicate chronic health conditions on account of the Moon being made unfortunate by Saturn, or flows of blood; and in these, many seem to be liberated from death by the healthy protection of Jupiter, God the Almighty especially bringing this to pass. And the deaths of the very rich appear. And pestilence in places subject to Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, and Aquarius, Gemini, and Libra, on account of the reasons assigned above.
¶ Concerning war, however, we say that in the very beginning of the year it will be stirred up most vehemently around the fourth climate, which afterward seems to be annulled by the death of a king, or on account of some great prince or duke. And there will be war continued in the Kingdom of Naples because it is under Sagittarius, and in lands subject to Aries and Leo, which will be marked by me at the end. I would have said the Romans were safe from war in the first quarter of the year, had not the square aspect of Mars to Venus stood in the way, on account of Libra being made unfortunate by the solar eclipse of the previous year. Whence, in that region, rebellions against their lords are indicated, and the death of the King will be feared because the Moon in its eclipse is made unfortunate by Saturn. Albumasar, that most expert man, says this in the Book of Secrets, which Guido Bonatus follows, although he does not cite him. But the Sun, made unfortunate, prepares ruin for the Emperor of the Turks and of Babylon and Spain. The Moon, however, [for] the Roman Emperor. But these I dare to affirm: that in the composition of peace, an edict will be made by our Pontiff against the barbarian nations, and those signed with the cross will prevail against them, God willing, because Jupiter and Venus work much in favor of the Christians, and those infidels will be discordant among themselves on account of the square of Mars and Venus, who are their significators, and the conjunction of Mars
