foundation, had Cancer in the ascendant, as in Italy are Venice, Milan, and according to some, Lucca; and Constantinople in Greece; unless the particular revolutions of their foundations prevent it. The third and last quarter of the year, however, because of the lordship of Jupiter, will be peaceful. Many, however, will hear rumors of wars more than they will feel the aggressions. For Saturn, conjoined to the head of the dragon, will incite punishments and entanglements among people. Nor will it let those live peacefully who remain in cities or lands subject to Capricorn. According to the opinion of Guido Bonatti, because Mars in the revolution of the year is separating from Saturn, it signifies that kings will incite war on the counsel of base and ignoble men.
¶ Chapter seven: Concerning the quality of future infirmities.
The ascendant of the revolution, looking at Mars with an opposite ray, and the Moon hastening to the opposite ray of Saturn, brings testimony concerning the dyscrasia imbalance of humors of bodies. But in the preceding conjunctive figure, the Moon applying to Jupiter promises that the bodies of men will be healthy; but this will be most difficult to fulfill because of Mars dwelling in the ascendant of the conjunction. The lord of the place of the conjunction, also, being combust by the Sun, threatens future mortalities. Therefore, we say, so that we may conclude the matter more briefly, that the first quarter of the year will not be clean of infirmities, but in it will appear fevers and abscesses around the parts of the chest, and pains of the eyes because of the Moon in the sixth of the revolution. The city itself, however, will be safe because the significator is conjoined to Jupiter, at least in the beginning of spring. The second quarter of the year, however, will be free from infirmities, since the Moon after the conjunction applies to Jupiter; and in the figure of the entry, it hastens to the trine ray of Jupiter. The lord of the ascendant of the revolution, also, when it is in a trine to the Moon and the fortune Jupiter, brings testimony concerning the health of bodies. Mars in the ascendant of the conjunction, however, slightly impedes the aforementioned significations. The third quarter of the year, however, will not be clean from infirmities, partly because of the Moon in the figure of the prevention applying, after the opposition, to the opposite aspect of Mercury (then retrograde). Partly also because of the opposition of Mars to the lord of the prevention, he himself being
