or the point-based [entry], and [affirm it] is stronger, and there is no beginning of the circumference. Yet the luminaries governing the whole world are seen to operate more by the point, so that finally, for those hesitating, a doubt may occur according to the opinions of Arnold and others, [that] the lord of the year [should be taken] not only from the entry or the point-based [entry], but also from the very ingress of the sun into Aries, which I hold must be chosen. For the equinoctial [circle], directed at the point of Aries, does not intersect the ecliptic where the sun will ever be, nor is the equinox there, but [it is reached] after six days or nearly so. Relying on their study, therefore, I acknowledge the lord of the year as the conjunction of Jupiter with the Sun, to which I believe many will prefer Saturn. Mercury, however, because of the falsity of the testimonies and in the point
Chapter 4. Concerning the general disposition of the year.
Having inspected all causes from which the state of the year should be known, especially regarding its primary qualities, I say that the present year inclines toward the temperature of the air. The winds will move in the northern [directions] and are mixed. Jupiter, however, being in an airy sign and in southern latitude, testifies to continuous lightning and flashes. And it will happen very often, because of the particular testimonies of the days, that the air is altered according to the mode of mixture, now toward cold, now toward humidity, now even toward heat, and thus the quality of the year will be now one and now another, according to the disposition of the four seasons of the year. Leupoldus, however, in his treatise on the revolutions of the years of the world, says: "That year will be good if the Moon after the point-based entry joins with a good [planet] before a bad one." The Moon, however, in the present year joins with a good [planet] and in a square aspect.
Chapter 5. Concerning the disposition of the four seasons of the year.
The time of spring, as astrologers wish, should be known from the ingress of the sun into Aries. The beginning of spring will be on the 2nd of March at the 16th minute. Its general disposition will be cold and moist, and harmful [storms] will fall within it. However, the lord of the horoscope, and Jupiter himself, will mitigate that quality, and at that time Mars threatens waters in certain regions to fish and other animals.
Summer. The figure of the ingress of the sun into Cancer claims this for itself, and it enters on the 11th of June, at the 7th hour and 51st minute. And according to their disposition, it will be hot, and because of the testimonies of certain days, the winds [will blow].
Autumn. Thunderstorms and other tempests should be feared. The quality of autumn, which is perceived from the ingress of the sun into Libra, will be tempered. Winds will move in it, and [the] lord Mars will dispose certain days for heat. And as from the mind of some it is gathered, I suspect [this] regarding fire.
