The entry and progress of the seven planets through the twelve signs and their exit. They wander and direct all things that arise and decline in this world, for all change springs from them. God Almighty made the world like a round sphere and made the higher circle movable in its course, and the earth established in its center, inclining toward the right and toward the left. And alongside this, He created movable elements to be moved by the course of the seven planets, and all other stars, so that they might work together with the planets in their operations and natures. God is great, and His name is great in strength. Who would not fear the King of the people, for such is His honor; and among the wise of the people, and in all kingdoms, none is found like Him. Wonderful is He in His works, for the clarity of the heavens is truly wondrous, with the multiplicity of its course and stars. No less wonderful is the fertility of the earth in the growth and production of herbs, trees, flowers, and fruits, and the breeding of birds, and in the manifold transformation of ore and precious stones. These are all God's wonderful works. He has also spread out His powers down to the elements, so that they are obedient, not in one form or uniform, but more or less. And whichever element is higher, lighter, and purer, that is more obedient. And whichever is less light and pure is less subject to the flow of the heavens. From this comes death and scarcity, changing in the elements at one end sooner and at the other stronger. Therefore, those scoffers of the praiseworthy art of astronomy should be silent and restrain their mouths who speak thus
