"He urged me to change my heart and not fall into the mortal trap, for killing life creates boundless bad karma. One day, when my time runs out,

I will face the eight disasters and three paths of suffering references to Buddhist realms of punishment, regretting my deeds too late. I listened to his words, turned my heart, and sought to practice the Way. I awakened, turned my mind back, and sought the secret technique.

Destined, I knelt to make him my master, and he pointed out the gates of heaven and the doors of the earth. I received the transmission of the Nine-Turn Great Return Elixir,

Practicing day and night without stopping. It rose to the Niwan Palace the crown of the head and descended to the Yongquan point the bubbling spring point on the sole of the foot.

The kidney water flowed into the Flowery Pool the mouth/saliva, warming the dantian energy center in the lower abdomen. The infant and maiden internal alchemical energies of yin and yang paired their yin and yang.

Lead and mercury mingled to distinguish sun and moon. The departing dragon and the lurking tiger were harmonized; the spirit turtle sucked dry the blood of the golden crow.

With the three flowers gathered at the crown, I returned to the source. The five qi vital energies converged and penetrated through. When my work was complete and my conduct perfected, I ascended to the sky.

The heavenly immortals came in pairs to welcome me. Brilliant clouds gathered beneath my feet; my body was light, and my spirit healthy as I bowed before the Golden Palace.

The Jade Emperor held a banquet for the multitude of immortals, arranging them according to their ranks. I was decreed a Marshal in charge of the Heavenly River,

Supervising the naval forces and holding the seal of authority. But then, the Queen Mother held the Flat Peach banquet, inviting guests to the Jade Pool."
