Proclus (412–485 AD) was a Greek Neoplatonist philosopher whose commentary on Euclid’s Elements heavily influenced Kepler’s belief that geometry was the blueprint for creation.

Mathematics contributes the most to the study of nature original Greek: Πρὸς δὲ τὴν φυσικὴν θεωρίαν (ἡ μαθηματικὴ) τὰ μέγιστα συμβάλλεται, revealing the good order of the ratios according to which the UNIVERSE original Greek: ΠΑ͂Ν (The All) has been fashioned... and showing the simple and primal elements, contained by symmetry and equality in every way, through which the whole heaven was perfected, receiving the appropriate shapes according to their own parts.

This "Privilegio" was an early form of copyright protection granted by the Holy Roman Emperor, Rudolph II's successor, to prevent unauthorized reprinting.
