...or those you have commissioned, should dare or presume to sell the printed original: impressum vendere work, or hold it for sale, or offer it, or otherwise possess it. Furthermore, we command all our venerable brothers—the Archbishops, Bishops, and their Vicars, or their general officials in spiritual matters—as well as the Legates, Vice-legates, Governors, Judges, Magistrates original: Potestatibus, Police Captains original: Baricellis; local law enforcement officers in the Papal States, and all others whom this may in any way concern, that as often as they are requested by you or on your behalf, they must assist you with the protection of an effective defense.

They are to enforce these provisions by our authority at your simple request against any who are disobedient or rebellious, using ecclesiastical censures spiritual penalties such as excommunication and other appropriate legal or practical remedies. They may even call upon the aid of the secular arm original: brachij secularis auxilio; this refers to calling upon civil authorities or physical force to enforce the decree if necessary.

This grant stands notwithstanding any Apostolic constitutions or ordinances, or any statutes and customs even if confirmed by oath or Apostolic approval. It overrides any prior privileges or Apostolic letters, even those issued by our own accord original: motu proprio; a document issued by the Pope on his own initiative, with certain knowledge, from the fullness of our power, or in a formal assembly original: consistorialiter. Even if these prior laws require specific and express mention to be set aside, and though they otherwise remain in effect, for this occasion only we specially and expressly override them, as well as anything else to the contrary.
