And yet, I have said nothing of the time that must be spent on sleep or food original: "Meat"; used here in the general sense of food or meals. Many people waste almost as much time on eating as they do on sleep, and sleep consumes nearly half of our lives. Indeed, all the time I can gain for myself is what I steal from my sleep and my meals. Because that is not much, I have made only slow progress.
