original: "AD MODUM REVERENDO". This is a standard Latin honorific used to address a person of high religious or scholarly standing. It is the beginning of a formal dedication, but the name of the individual being honored has been lost to time and ink damage.
The text on this page is extremely faded and appears to be bleed-through from the reverse page or perhaps a faint, damaged stamp. Most of the original writing is now illegible.
