A most complete commentary on all the difficult passages of the Old Tes-
tament, drawn from the Talmud and otherand Hebrew books, written both before the birth of CHRIST and afterwards, against the stubborn unbelief original: "perfidiam". In the 16th century, this term was a standard theological label for "unbelief" or the refusal to accept Christian dogma, rather than "treachery" in the modern sense. of the Jews.

The names "Johann Reuchlin" and the phrase "Kabalistic Art" were heavily obscured with thick black ink by a contemporary censor. Reuchlin was a famous scholar whose defense of Jewish books led to a massive controversy, and his writings were often placed on the "Index of Prohibited Books."
WE HAVE ADDED a twofold Index: the first contains the subjects themselves, the other encompasses the obscure passages of Scripture that have been explained.
The page bears several historical library marks: a circular stamp from the National Library "Vittorio Emanuele" in Rome, a noble coat of arms, and two additional circular stamps at the bottom.Below the text is the printer’s mark of Johannes Hervagius. It depicts a three-headed figure—representing Hermes or the virtue of Prudence—standing upon a stone column decorated with a mask, surrounded by blooming flora. This was a "brand logo" for the publishing house in Basel.
