From the library of illegible name? original Latin: ex libris
A separate slip of paper pasted onto the page, containing an ex libris bookplate illustration. The drawing, executed in fine line work, depicts a traditional high-backed wooden chair. Draped over the chair's back and seat are several large fronds or palm-like branches.
Ex libris: a Latin phrase meaning "from the books of," used to identify a book's owner.
Bookplate: a decorative label, often printed or engraved, pasted into a book to show ownership.
