The following addresses were delivered in Berlin during the winter of 1807–08, in a series of lectures, and as a continuation of the Characteristics of the Present Age original: "Grundzüge des gegenwärtigen Zeitalters." This refers to a series of lectures Fichte gave previously, which critiqued the egoism and social decay he perceived in his era.
