About This Work
A Musician playing a Stringed Instrument, Page from a Muraqqa‘ (album). Instrument could be a tar. Tars today have two skin tops, with connected sound passage beneath. The illustrated instrument appears to have a wooden upper section and skin section at the bottom, possibly making it a type of rubab. Scanned 2014-08-28. Page 34.7 x 23 cm; Image 14.9 x 7.6 cm.
