III. Through the Key of David Key of David: a biblical reference from Revelation 3:7, symbolizing spiritual authority and the power to "open" divine secrets that no one can shut, which is a practice by which one learns to look above themselves to the cause of the tree in the middle of Paradise—that is, what Adam and Christ are In this mystical context, Adam represents the fallen, earthly nature of humanity, while Christ represents the restored, spiritual nature. The "tree" refers to the Tree of Life or the Tree of Knowledge.
The first part or means teaches us to consider the fundamental reason why Christ gave and commanded the Lord's Prayer original: "Vater Unser", from which one learns that the gracious God has given all things and knows [our needs] before we pray, and that we must awaken ourselves—and not God—with our prayer and shouting. And that both Adam and Christ are within us with their qualities, and that all earthly and heavenly wisdom lies hidden within us, like a great treasure in the field A reference to the Parable of the Hidden Treasure in Matthew 13:44, suggesting that spiritual truth is already within the soul but must be "dug up" through effort, which no one can obtain unless he prays, unless he seeks, and unless he knocks.
Take for yourself seven weeks—early in the morning and in the evening, also often in the night if you cannot sleep—for such meditations, which you should always practice before you pray your Lord's Prayer.
1. That God knows everything better beforehand—what is necessary for us—even before we ask.
2. That God summons, lures, drives, and admonishes all people to pray, and also promises a certain hearing meaning a guaranteed response to the prayer.
