Oh God, You have indeed created us all alike through the clod of earth original: "Erdenkloß," referring to the clay or dust of the ground from which Adam was formed in Genesis and through Your holy breathing-in original: "Einblasen," the divine breath of life, and You have indeed redeemed us all alike, and have baptized and sanctified us all alike through Your Holy Spirit. Romans 5 original: "Rom. 5": if anyone now has a lack of Your gifts, let him blame himself that he does not ask You, O kind Father; for You remain righteous in all Your works. You are the unchanging Sun; whoever turns to You through prayer will be sufficiently enlightened. But whoever turns away from You by neglecting prayer becomes darkened and blinded—for that You are not to blame. Oh You eternal, impartial Sun; oh Lord, teach me to contemplate this rightly, so I will realize that You love one as much as the other, and You neglect or skip over no one with Your Spirit, Light, and gifts; thus You remain righteous in all Your works, even though men remain deprived of Your light.
