1 Corinthians 6. Yes, I am washed; I am sanctified; I am purified through Your death, O Lord Jesus Christ. Upon this, I am also baptized and sealed with Your Spirit. Upon this, I speak in the name of Christ: Our Father, who art, etc. original: "Vater Unser der du bist / &c." — a reference to the beginning of the Lord's Prayer.
Before you pray your "Our Father" early in the morning, say:
Ah, Lord, I am sufficiently instructed in how You know and see all things; therefore, I do not need to awaken You through my shouting, but rather to awaken myself. Furthermore, I also know that You urge us and exhort us to pray, and promise a certain hearing meaning a guarantee that God listens and responds. Also, You are no respecter of persons respecter of persons: (German: Anseher der Person) a biblical phrase meaning God does not show favoritism based on social status, wealth, or outward appearance. but love us all, and You even precede all of us with Your blessings. I also know through Your grace that my own piety does not advance me, and my unworthiness or sin shall not hinder me in Christ Jesus; for what would it be if I said: "Forgive me my sin; I will not pray until I have first received forgiveness of the..."
