The Title translates to "The Birth of the Breath of Shiva," an ancient text on phonetics and the science of breathing.
Mahadeva The Great God, Shiva said: O Goddess! This universe is born from the elements Tattvas; the fundamental building blocks of reality, it is sustained by the elements, and it dissolves back into the elements. Therefore, understand that the ultimate determination of the universe lies within these elements alone. || 4 ||

The elements alone are the supreme root, as determined by those who know the truth.
O Lord, what is the true nature of these elements? Please reveal the nature of the elements to me. || 5 ||
Parvati said: Since the seekers of truth have determined that the elements are the very root of the universe, O Lord, what is the nature of these elements? Please reveal this to me. || 5 ||

From the one stainless, formless God, the Great Lord,
Space was produced; from Space, Air was born. || 6 ||
Mahadeva said: From the one Supreme Lord, who is formless and free from the illusions of Maya, Space Akasha; the ether or void was born, and from Space, Air was produced. || 6 ||
From Air came Fire, from Fire came Water, and from Water the Earth was born.
These are the five elements, expanded fivefold. || 7 ||
From Air came Fire, from Fire came Water, and from Water the Earth was produced. These five elements each expand in five ways; that is to say, through the process of Panchikaran; the quintuplication or mixing of elements, they become twenty-five variations. || 7 ||
From these the universe is born, by them it is sustained.
It dissolves back into them, and dwells within them again in subtle form. || 8 ||
The universe is born from these, it is nourished by these, and having dissolved into these, it remains again in a subtle state. || 8 ||
