In this body composed of the five elements, O Beautiful One, the five elements exist in a subtle form; they are known only by those yogis who have mastered the elements. || 9 ||
original: "Sundari" (Beautiful One). This refers to the Goddess Parvati, to whom Lord Shiva is revealing these secrets. O Beautiful One! In this body born from the five elements Pancha-tattva; the five great elements: earth, water, fire, air, and ether, these five elements exist in a subtle state. Those yogis who possess knowledge of the elements understand them. || 9 ||
Now I shall speak of the "Rise of the Breath" Swarodaya; the science of predicting events based on the flow of breath through the nostrils situated within the body. Through the nature of the movement of the "Ham-sa" original: "Hamsachara." This refers to the sound of the breath, where 'Ham' is the out-breath and 'Sa' is the in-breath, symbolizing the soul's movement., knowledge of the three periods of time is attained. || 10 ||
Now I describe the origin of the breaths situated within the body, specifically the vowels like 'A' and others. Through the knowledge of these, in the form of the movement of the breath, one gains knowledge of the three times: the past, the future, and the present. || 10 ||
This is the secret of secrets, the essence of essences, the revealer of benefits. This knowledge of the "Rise of the Breath" is the crown jewel of all forms of knowledge. || 11 ||
This knowledge of the breath is the most hidden essence among all secret things; it brings benefits to light and is the head-gem The most superior or precious part of all sciences. || 11 ||
It is the subtlest of subtle knowledge, easy to perceive, and brings the realization of truth. It is a wonder to the faithless, but a foundation for those who believe. || 12 ||
This knowledge of the breath is worthy of being understood thoroughly and creates conviction. To those who are atheists Nastika; those who do not believe in the authority of the Vedas or the divine, it appears as a mere marvel, but for the faithful Astika, it is their very support. || 12 ||
This "Rise of the Breath" should be given only to one who is peaceful, pure, of good conduct, single-mindedly devoted to the Guru, firm in mind, and grateful. || 13 ||
