One should know that the Kuhu channel is located in the genital region and the Shankhini channel in the anus. In this manner, the ten nadissubtle energy channels through which life force flows reside within the ten gates of the body. || 40 ||

The Pingala, Ida, and Sushumna channels are dependent upon the path of the pranathe primary life force or vital breath. These ten channels are situated within the middle of the body. || 41 ||

I shall now speak of the names of the vatusvital airs or winds that govern bodily functions which reside within these channels: Prana, Apana, Samana, Udana, and Vyana. || 42 ||

Naga, Kurma, Krikala, Devadatta, and Dhananjaya. The Prana air always dwells in the heart, and the Apana air in the region of the anus. || 43 ||

The Samana is in the region of the navel, the Udana moves within the middle of the throat, and the Vyana air pervades the entire body. These are the ten principal airs. || 44 ||

The first five are known as the Prana group, and the other five are the Naga group of airs. I shall now also speak of the locations of those five in the Naga group. || 45 ||
