The person who constantly and correctly practices the observation of the Moon and Sun breaths The "Moon" breath refers to the left nostril (Ida) and the "Sun" breath to the right (Pingala). gains direct knowledge of both the past and the future. || 56 ||
The energy channel on the left side (Ida) is the form of nectar original: "amrita-rupa" and is the nourisher of the entire world. The active part of the right side, the Pingala channel, is what constantly generates or brings forth the world. || 57 ||
And the middle channel (Sushumna) is harsh and unfavorable for all worldly actions. Conversely, the left channel is the bestower of success in all auspicious and virtuous deeds. || 58 ||
At the time of departure leaving one's home or starting a journey, the left channel is auspicious, while the right channel is favorable when entering a place. One should always understand the Moon (left) to be "even" and the Sun (right) to be "odd." || 59 ||
Know the Moon to be female and the Sun to be male; the Moon is of a fair complexion and the Sun is of a dark complexion. When the Moon channel is flowing, one should perform gentle and peaceful tasks. || 60 ||
During the flow of the Sun channel, one should carry out fierce or "terrible" original: "raudra," referring to intense, competitive, or aggressive actions deeds. When the Sushumna flows, one should engage in activities that grant the fruits of both worldly enjoyment and spiritual liberation. || 61 ||
