The Perfect Law

Liberation original: Nirvāṇa; the state of ultimate release from the cycle of rebirth and suffering is the result brought about by the practice of self-absorption, which is the combination of Real Right belief original: Samyak Darshana, Real Right Knowledge original: Samyak Jnana and Real Right Conduct original: Samyak Charitra.

In the condition of Liberation original: Nirvāṇa the soul retains its own pure and real thought-activities only, and enjoys its own natural and eternal bliss.

I cannot conclude this introduction without first expressing my deep sense of gratitude to the late Mr. J. L. Jaini, whose erudite and learned commentaries on The Manual for Understanding Reality original: Tattwārthā Dhigama Sutra; a foundational Jain text systematically explaining reality and The Essence of Gommata original: Gommatsāra; a major work detailing the soul's journey and the mechanics of karma have been freely utilized and referred to, as occasion demanded.
