The utility of logarithms is explained in detail in this volume. Regarding the method of listing them, the zhenshu true number/antilogarithm is listed on the left, and the jiashu false number/logarithm is listed on the right. The true numbers stop at 100,000. Beyond 100,000, the preceding digits of the logarithms are all the same, and the subsequent differences are also equal; thus, they can be calculated using zhongbili proportional means/interpolation. The logarithms use eleven places to facilitate the use of interpolation. In truth, for true numbers under 100,000, the logarithms only use eight places. If the ninth place is five or greater, one is added to the preceding digit to arrive at the result. For true
