and received it, and took it back to him into the ark. * And he waited another seven days, and 10 again he sent out the dove from the ark. * And the dove returned to him in the evening, and it had a leaf of an olive branch in its mouth: and Noah knew that the waters had diminished from the earth. * And he waited seven days more, and again he sent out the dove: and it did not return to him anymore. * And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year of the life of Noah, in the first month, on the first day of the month, the water decreased from the face of the earth. And Noah opened the roof of the ark which he had made: * and he saw that the water had decreased from the face of the earth. * But in the seventh month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried. * And the Lord God spoke to Noah and said: * Go out of the ark, you, and your wife, and your sons, and the wives of your sons with you: * and all the beasts that are with you, and all flesh from the birds even to the cattle: and all the creeping things that creep on the earth, lead out with you, and they shall creep upon the earth: and increase and multiply upon the earth. * And Noah went out, and his wife and his sons, and the wives of his sons with him: * and every beast, and every creeping thing that moves, and every bird from the earth according to their kinds, went out of the ark.
6 * And Noah built an altar to God: and he took of all the clean cattle, and of all the clean birds, and he offered a burnt offering upon the altar: * and the Lord God smelled a sweet savor. And the Lord God said, thinking in His heart, I will not again curse the earth because of the works of men: for the thoughts of man are established on the care of evil from his childhood. Now, I will not again strike all living flesh as I have done: * from henceforth, all the days of the earth, seed and harvest, cold and heat, summer and spring, day and night shall not cease.
And God blessed Noah and his sons: and said to them, increase and multiply and fill the earth and rule over it: * and the fear and dread of you shall be upon all the beasts of the earth: and upon all the birds of the heavens, and upon all the creeping things of the earth, and upon all the fish of the sea: which I have given under your hand. * And every moving thing that is living, shall be for food for you: as the green herb I have given you all. * But flesh with the blood of its life you shall not eat: * for your own blood of life I will require, from the hands of all beasts I will require it, and from the hands of man: from the hand of a man, I will require the life of the blood of his brother. * Whoever sheds the blood of man, in place of his blood his blood shall be shed: for in the image of God I made man: * but you, increase and multiply and fill the earth, and multiply upon it. * And the Lord God spoke to Noah, and to his sons who were with him, and said: * And behold, I establish My covenant with you, and with your seed after you: * and with every living soul that is with you, of the birds and of the cattle and of all the beasts of the earth * that are with you, and of all that went out of the ark, and all the cattle of the earth: * and I will establish My covenant with you: and never again shall all flesh die by the flood: and there shall never again be a flood of waters to corrupt all the earth. * And says
the Lord God to Noah: This is the sign of the covenant which I give between Me and you, and between every living soul that is with you, for generations of eternity: * I will set My rainbow in the clouds, and it shall be for a sign of the eternal covenant between Me and all the earth. * And it shall be, when I gather clouds upon the earth, My rainbow shall appear in the clouds: * and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you, and between every living soul of all flesh: and there shall never again be water of a flood to destroy all flesh. * And My rainbow shall be in the clouds: and I will see it, to remember the eternal covenant between Me and between every living soul of all flesh that is upon the earth: * And God says to Noah: This is the sign of the covenant which I have covenanted between Me and you, and between all flesh that is upon the earth: * And the sons of Noah who went out of the ark were: Shem, Ham, Japheth: Ham was the father of Canaan: * these three were the sons of Noah, and from them they were scattered over all the earth.
And these are the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, Japheth: and children were born to them after the flood: * The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Elishah, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras: * And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah: * And the sons of Javan: Elishah and Tarshish, the Kittians, and the Rhodians: * and from them the islands of the nations were separated in their lands: each according to their language, in their nations and in their tribes: * And the sons of Ham: Cush, and Mizraim, Phut, and Canaan: * And the sons of Cush: Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabteca: and the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan: * And Cush begot Nimrod: he began to be a giant upon the earth: * and he was a giant hunter before the Lord God: therefore they say, like Nimrod the giant before the Lord God: * And the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon: and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh in the land of Shinar: * From that land went forth Asshur, and he built Nineveh, and the city of Rehoboth: and Calah: * and Resen between Nineveh and between the cities, that is the great city: * And Mizraim begot the Ludim, and the Anamim, and the Lehabim: and the Naphtuhim: * and the Pathrusim
