On the Deceased

He is to be feared original: "ܕܚܝܼܠܳܐ ܠܹܗ" [and] is distant from Him; the righteous of soul [are distant] from the sinners; and those who are not like [Him] are invisible to us original: "ܕܠܳܐ ܕܸܡܲܬܼ ܠܳܐ ܡܸܬܼܚܲܙܝܳܢܝܼ ܠܲܢ" [but] are visible. He alone is like [Him] and has established the health of everything, for He is the Physician who makes [one] suffer with the pains of healing. Concerning what was not, and the Lord does not act for existence; He who suffers, [who] is not like [Him], who does not delay, does not make [anything] one. By the hands of death, death and life and even the resurrection [exist]; blessed is He who saved us [and] brings up the deceased from their graves.
