SINCE several theologians of the same Society have reviewed the Second Volume of the works of SAINT EPHREM the Syrian—translated from Syriac into Latin and illustrated by Father Peter Benedict Peter Benedict (1676–1742), also known by his Arabic name Petro Mubarak, was a Maronite Jesuit and a key scholar in bringing Syriac literature to the West. of our Society—and have approved that it may be published, we grant permission for it to be printed, if it so pleases those to whom it pertains; in witness whereof we have given these letters, signed by our hand and secured with our seal.
