Archimedis Opera Omnia
Archimedes; Thomas Geschauff (Venatorius)
English translations of this work exist from another source language, but this specific text has never been translated.
The 1544 edition of Archimedes' works (Archimedis Syracusani philosophi ac geometrae excellentissimi opera) is a landmark publication that provided the first printed Greek and Latin texts of many of his works. While the original Greek works of Archimedes have been translated into English many times (e.g., by Heath, Netz, etc.), there is no evidence of a translation of this specific 1544 Latin edition into English. The Latin text served as the primary vehicle for the transmission of Archimedean science in the Renaissance, but modern English translations are based on the Greek source texts, not the 1544 Latin rendering.

Archimedes invites you to see the world as a precise architecture of geometry. This edition bridges ancient discovery and scholarly critique, revealing how we measure the curve of a sphere or the volume of a grain of sand.
