While Hero of Alexandria's 'Pneumatics' was translated into English by Bennet Woodcroft in 1851, that translation was made from the original Greek. Federico Commandino's 1575 Latin translation, which served as a primary Renaissance source for the work, has not been independently translated into English. As the prompt specifies that translations from the original Greek do not count against the status of the Latin text's translation, this remains a first English translation of the Commandino Latin version.
